Agricultural Law

Agricultural Law

Agriculture is Arkansas’s largest industry, adding around $16 billion annually to the state’s economy.  Agricultural law practice includes everything from administrative law practice to dealing with agricultural cooperatives.  One of our attorneys, Paul Keith, has an advanced law degree (L.LM) in Agricultural Law.  He and Cliff Gibson grew up on and operated farms in the Arkansas Delta.  Our attorneys uniquely understand the needs of farmers and the need for prompt action.  We vigorously defend farmers before administrative agencies and in court, and also advise farm families on succession planning and strategies to avoid having the family farm go through the cost and delay of probate.

Examples of our attorneys’ work in the area of agricultural law include:

• Successfully challenging administrative decisions of the Farm Service Agency;
• Recovering payment on crop hail insurance policies for damages to mature cotton crops;
• Developing farm leases;
• Serving as counsel for agricultural cooperatives;
• Serving as counsel for agricultural suppliers; and
• Drafting agricultural leases for land owners.

If you are a farmer, you’ll want Gibson & Keith on your side.  Contact us today to see how we can help your farm and your family continue to grow.
